Since landing his dream interview with President Barack Obama, student reporter Damon Weaver was chosen as one of the most influential young African-Americans of 2009 in the December 2009 issue of Essence Magazine.

Additionally, February’s edition of Ebony Magazine features Damon Weaver as having “Super-Kid Syndrome” in a two page article. The title of the Ebony article is “Super Kid Syndrome – How one motivated youngster made his way to the White House.” Both magazines are currently available on newsstands around the country.

Soon Damon will be covering NFL’s Pro Bowl Game at Sun Life Stadium in Miami, FL. The NFL has granted Pro Bowl press credentials to Damon and Anthony Bowie. Anthony Bowie is a third grade student reporter that is currently being trained by Damon and the KEC TV News Director Brian Zimmerman. The student reporters are hoping to interview some of their favorite football players at the Pro Bowl game on Sunday, January 31, 2010. During the game the students will be sitting in the press box and after they will be allowed to interview the players on the field and in their locker room.

As part of their media coverage, the students will also interview football players when they attend the Pro Bowl practice on Saturday, January 30, 2010. Damon and Anthony are the youngest reporters to be granted press credentials by the NFL.
