LAKE WORTH- Teachers, behavioral support staff, school nurses and school counselors will be attending the fourth annual Student Mental Health and Wellness Conference Wednesday to obtain professional development on social/emotional learning, mental health and wellness and aligning behavioral and social/emotional resources to meet the needs of all students.

WHEN: Wednesday, June 7 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Keynote presentations include information on mental health awareness through film and art and the impact of trauma on Pre-K through 12th graders.

Workshops will include positive school climates and whole school wellness, mental health and wellness across cultures and approaching diverse family situations, as well as many other meaningful and timely topics to assess and address student needs.

Representatives from various District and community resources will also be available for these professionals to learn about the services available to assist students and their families.

Providing a positive and supportive school climate while aligning behavioral and social/emotional services and accessibility to services is one of the four key initiatives in the School District’s five-year Strategic Plan.
